THE EXAMINATION SCHEME

2. Examination institutes are in charge of operating the examination scheme
They manage accreditation of: Training Organisations, trainers and Training Materials (Acquiros, APMG International BCS, Peoplecert, Exin…)
3. Accredited Training Organisation are delivering the PRINCE2 courses by Accredited trainers
Make sure when selecting a Training Organisation it is accredited by one of the Examination institutes above
1. PRINCE2 FOUNDATION LEVEL
The foundation level is the first level of PRINCE2 certification scheme
The courses are delivered in 2 or 2.5 days depending on your training organisation
You will be able to pass the foundation exam right after

Who is it for?
New project managers / members of a team or company working in a PRINCE2 environment
You will understand the methodology and the terminology to be able to work in a PRINCE2 team
The exam
- Multiple choice
- 75 questions per paper
- 5 questions to be trial and not counted in scores
- 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) – 50%
- 60 minutes duration
- Closed book
2. PRINCE2 PRACTITIONER LEVEL
The practitioner level certification can be obtain if you already have the foundation level but also:
- PRINCE2 Foundation
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
- IPMA Level A® (Certified Projects Director)
- IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager)
- IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager)
- IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate)
The courses are in general 1.5 day than you can pass the exam
The certification is valid for 5 years, to keep your certification valid you must pass a Re-registration examination
Who is it for?
Built upon the knowledge gained with the foundation level, you demonstrate your ability to apply PRINCE2 on simple projects. This certification is popular and becomes almost a pre-requisit for many project management roles

8 groups of questions – 10 question per group, each worth one mark
- 44 marks or more required to pass (out of 80 available) – 55%
- Two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes) duration, no additional reading time
- Open book exam (official PRINCE2 manual only)

PRINCE2 Re-registration
Within 3-5 calendar years after your PRINCE2 Practitioner you must pass this exam to maintain your Registered Practitioner status
3. PRINCE2 AGILE™
The latest certification in the PRINCE2 scheme is for the moment available for delegates who have passed:
- PRINCE2 Foundation
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- Project Management Professional® (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Project Management® (CAPM)
- IMPA Levels A,B,C and D® (Certified Projects Director).
You learn in this 2.5 days of course how to blend the Agile methodology with PRINCE2, the exam is taken the afternoon of the last day of the course
Pre-reading is recommended before attending the course to remind key elements of PRINCE2 and Agile concepts
Who is it for?
For professionals who work within a project environment including key staff involved with integrating project management with product delivery
The exam
- 50 questions each worth one mark
- 30 marks or more required to pass out of 50 questions – 60% pass mark
- Two-and-a-half hours’ (150 minutes) duration, no additional reading time
- Open book exam (official PRINCE2 Agile guide only).
4. PRINCE2 PROFESSIONAL LEVEL
It is a 2.5 days of continuous assessment by a team of evaluators
